Product Description

The OEM crashbar is a heavy composite weighing just over 16lbs---it's actually very complex with 15 capture points that need to be spot on to hold the bumper/crash sensors etc...We were able to get them all and came in at just over 8lbs or half the weight! That's huge for our racecar/performance---it's out side of the wheelbase so it's worth 3X that weight to us all---and it frees up space underneath that'll allow for a rear diffuser and other cool Aero pieces. Please allow 2-3 weeks for production---the crashbar is seen raw in the pics, but comes powdercoated Anthracite.

Excellent Kit

If I hadn't been busy cleaning underneath everything and greasing all my electrical connections and fiddling with other things while my bumper cover was off, this would have only taken about an hour to install on my '15 VTU. Fantastic bit of kit, easy install, perfect fitment. On my particular model of VT the OEM composite rear crash bar only weighed 12.4lbs and this bar comes in at 9.5lbs, so *almost* 3lbs dropped off the trailing edge - it's not a night-and-day difference like the front crash bar is, but it's still easily noticeable and frankly I feel a LOT better about having some real steel back there instead of the OEM dense plastic.
Well worth the cost and the effort, highly recommended just like every other Pierce product I have installed on this rig!

after installing the front bar I went to the back. as expected the craftsmanship is amazing and fitting of the bar in the vehicle is almost perfect, since I installed both bars at the same time the difference in the vehicle when driven hard is REALLY noticeable, the loss of weight can even be seen and felt in the rear suspension. almost no hard button out of the rear of the vehicle when hitting a bump at high speed, (my VT have H&R springs and MBRP Exhaust) the only part that I don't like? there is no way to see it unless you lay down in the back of the car. Jokes aside is a most specially as a combination with front crash bar. really happy with the bar
